  16. as  well  as  the bank of Dual In-#

  20.    *  CALL DURATION REPORTING:    #
  21. The   Courier   HST   records  the#
  22. duration  of  your calls in hours,#
  23. minutes, and seconds. This feature#
  24. enables  you  to display and print#
  25. an  audit  of your calling activi-#
  26. ties.  You  can optionally use the#
  27. modem  clock as a real-time clock.#
  28.    *  CALL PROGRESS DETECTION:    #
  29. The  Courier  HST  has  additional#
  30. callprogress  result codes (screen#
  31. messages)  that  let you know when#
  32. a  line  is  busy, a person rather#
  33. than  a  modem  has  answered  the#
  34. phone,  there  is no dial tone, or#
  35. the distant phone is ringing.     #
  36.    *  MODEM SETTINGS DISPLAY:     #
  37. On  command,  the  modem  sends  a#
  38. display  of  its current settings,#
  39. a  handy  way to check your trans-#
  40. mission   rate,  S-registers,  and#
  41. other operational controls.       #
  42.    *  HELP SCREENS:   You can also#
  43. display screens that summarize the#
  44. command set, S-register functions,#
  45. and Dial command options.         #
  46.    *  REPEAT COMMAND:    You   can#
  47. have the modem continuously repeat#
  48. a  command until instructed other-#
  49. wise.  This  is especially usefule#
  50. in  dialing  services  whose lines#
  51. are often busy.                   #
  52.    *  QUOTE MODE:  You can put the#
  53. modem in Quote Mode.              #
  54.    *  ADAPTIVE DIALING:   You  can#
  55. set  the  Courier  HST  so that it#
  56. automatically   uses  touch - tone#
  57. dialing.  If  tone dialing doesn't#
  58. work  on the line, the modem auto-#
  59. matically  switches  to the slower#
  60. type, pulse (rotary).             #
  61.    *  DATA RATE FALLBACK:       In#
  62. addition   to   automatically  ad-#
  63. justing  to  the  bit  rate of in-#
  64. coming  calls  (0-300,  1200, 2400#
  65. bits  per  second,  or  bps),  the#
  66. Courier   HST   incorporates   the#
  67. V.22bis   fallback  recommendation#
  68. when  dialing. If the called modem#
  69. operates  at 1200 bps, the Courier#
  70. HST  automatically  drops  back to#
  71. 1200 bps.                         #
  72.    *  AUTOMATIC RETRAINING:    The#
  73. Courier  HST  observes the V.22bis#
  74. retrain  sequence,  which  enables#
  75. modems  communicating  at 2400 bps#
  76. to compensate for certain problems#
  77. that may affect data reliability. #
